No online backup from Anvaya. If your device is lost, broken, reset, or cleared, or if you uninstall the app, your family tree is gone unless you made your own backup. Anvaya cannot restore it for you.

Overview

Anvaya: Your Family Story is a family tree app published by Anvaya. Before you create your first person, you will see this Privacy Policy and our Terms and Conditions and need to agree to them.

We do not store your family tree on Anvaya servers. The names, dates, photos, and family connections you add stay on your device only.

There is no online backup from Anvaya. If your device is lost, broken, reset, or cleared, or if you uninstall the app, your family tree is gone unless you made your own backup.

1. Who is responsible

Anvaya (anvaya.forever@gmail.com) is responsible for how Anvaya: Your Family Story works.

Because your family tree stays on your device, we usually do not receive or store that information ourselves.

2. Information you provide

You may add first and last names, nicknames, dates of birth, gender, marriage status, photos, phone numbers, and family relationships (parent, child, partner).

You may also add family events (such as birthdays, wedding anniversaries, and remembrance days) and choose how you want the tree displayed — these choices are stored locally with your tree.

Photos come from your device photo library if you allow it. They stay on your device and are not uploaded to Anvaya servers.

We do not require an account, email, or phone number to use the core app.

3. Information collected automatically

On Android and iOS, Google may collect information about your device and how you interact with ads so it can show ads and measure how they perform. Anvaya does not sell your family tree data to advertisers.

If you turn on event reminders, the app schedules notifications on your device using event titles and dates already stored locally. We do not receive a feed of your reminders on our servers.

The app may remember which in-app notifications you have opened (read state) in local settings on your device.

Crash details are not sent to Anvaya unless you choose to share them with us, for example by email.

4. How we use information

Family data: used only on your device to show your family tree, progress, and suggestions.

Event reminders: used only to schedule local alerts on your phone before birthdays and anniversaries you already saved in the app.

Ad data: handled by Google under its own policies so banner ads and optional support videos can appear in the app.

We do not use your family tree content for marketing profiles or AI training.

5. Sharing and disclosure

We do not upload your family tree to our servers.

Google may receive device and ad-related information so it can show ads. See Google Privacy Policy.

We may disclose information if the law requires it, but we hold very little because your family tree stays on your device.

If you share your device with other people, they may be able to see your tree. Use More → Delete all family data before sharing the device if needed.

6. Device permissions

Photo library (read): optional, so you can choose family pictures.

Notifications: optional, for local reminders for family events you saved on the device.

Advertising / tracking (iOS): only if needed for ads. You can limit this in your device settings.

You can deny permissions; core tree features still work without photos or reminders.

7. Retention and deletion

Your data stays until you delete it, clear Anvaya data on your device, or uninstall the app.

Use More → Delete all family data to remove your family members, relationships, and saved app settings. We may keep your agreement to this policy so we do not ask again unless the policy changes.

Uninstalling the app or clearing Anvaya data removes your local family tree.

If your device is lost, stolen, damaged, or reset, Anvaya cannot restore your tree because we do not keep a copy.

8. Children

Anvaya is intended for family use. If you add information about children, you are responsible for having appropriate authority to do so.

We do not knowingly collect children’s personal information on our servers because we do not receive your family tree data.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or limit how information is used.

Because your data is stored on your device, you can handle most of this yourself by editing people or using Delete all family data.

For questions, contact anvaya.forever@gmail.com.

10. Security

We validate and clean the information entered into the app, and we check backup files before restoring them, to help keep Anvaya stable and safe.

No device storage is perfectly secure, so protect your device with a screen lock.

Backup files you export are plain, unencrypted files. Treat them like a private family document.

Because your data exists only on your device, hardware failure, resets, or accidental deletion can permanently remove your tree.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. Material changes will require you to review and accept again in the app.

The current version is 1.3.0.
