Privacy Policy
Overview
Anvaya: Your Family Story is a family tree app published by Anvaya. Before you create your first person, you will see this Privacy Policy and our Terms and Conditions and need to agree to them.
We do not store your family tree on Anvaya servers. The names, dates, photos, and relationships you add stay on your device only.
1. Who is responsible
Anvaya (anvaya.forever@gmail.com) is responsible for how the app works.
Because your family tree stays on your device, we usually do not receive or store that information ourselves.
2. Information you provide
You may add names, nicknames, dates of birth, gender, marriage status, photos, phone numbers, and family relationships (parent, child, partner).
You may also add family events — birthdays, anniversaries, remembrance days — and choose how the tree is displayed. These choices are stored locally with your tree.
Photos come from your device photo library if you allow it. They stay on your device and are not uploaded to Anvaya servers.
We do not require an account, email, or phone number to use the core app.
3. Information collected automatically
On Android and iOS, Google may collect device and ad-interaction data to show ads and measure performance. Anvaya does not sell your family tree data to advertisers.
If you turn on event reminders, the app schedules notifications on your device using event titles and dates already stored locally. We do not receive your reminders on our servers.
The app may remember which in-app notifications you have opened (read state) in local settings on your device.
Crash details are not sent to Anvaya unless you choose to share them with us, for example by email.
4. How we use information
- Family data — used only on your device to show your tree, progress, and suggestions.
- Event reminders — used only to schedule local alerts for birthdays and anniversaries you saved.
- Ad data — handled by Google under its own policies for banner ads and optional support videos.
We do not use your family tree content for marketing profiles or AI training.
5. Sharing and disclosure
We do not upload your family tree to our servers.
Google may receive device and ad-related information. See the Google Privacy Policy.
We may disclose information if the law requires it, but we hold very little because your tree stays on your device.
If you share your device with others, they may see your tree. Use More → Delete all family data before sharing if needed.
6. Device permissions
- Photo library (read) — optional, to choose family pictures.
- Notifications — optional, for local event reminders.
- Advertising / tracking (iOS) — only if needed for ads; you can limit this in device settings.
You can deny permissions; core tree features still work without photos or reminders.
7. Retention and deletion
Your data stays until you delete it, clear Anvaya data on your device, or uninstall the app.
Use More → Delete all family data to remove family members, relationships, and saved settings. We may keep your agreement to this policy so we do not ask again unless the policy changes.
If your device is lost, stolen, damaged, or reset, Anvaya cannot restore your tree because we do not keep a copy.
8. Children
Anvaya is intended for family use. If you add information about children, you are responsible for having appropriate authority to do so.
We do not knowingly collect children's personal information on our servers because we do not receive your family tree data.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or limit how information is used.
Because your data is stored on your device, you can handle most of this yourself by editing people or using Delete all family data.
For questions, contact anvaya.forever@gmail.com.
10. Security
We validate and clean information entered into the app, and check backup files before restoring them, to help keep Anvaya stable and safe.
No device storage is perfectly secure — protect your device with a screen lock.
Backup files you export can be password-protected. If you turn protection off, the file is plain and anyone who gets it can read your tree — treat it like a private family document.
Optional app lock (PIN or biometrics) can require unlocking Anvaya after the app was in the background. Your PIN is stored securely on the device only.
Anvaya does not upload your tree. Android automatic device backup for this app is disabled so your family data is not copied to Google backup without your knowledge.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. Material changes will require you to review and accept again in the app.
The current version is 1.6.0.
